Who are we working with? Who has done research on our solar dryers?
Mr. Menegatti and Mr. Villagrossi have been working for many years developing the solar food dryers. There has been quite a bit of research completed with interest from the following organizations. The dryers are being used in Afganistan, The Ukraine,Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, Africa. Soon we will have Elios in Honduras and if funding is accessed the Borgne region of Haiti will also introduce the Elio model.

"Anne Usher has 34 years of real estate consultancy and research experience in Latin America and is a social economist and statistician." Anne will be an integral staff member working with a remote subsistence farming community in a remote region of Honduras. She sees the food dryers as a fascinating tool for this commuity where electricity is none existent. Housing is deficient. And there has never been a food preservation system available.
"The overall goal of research in the Department of Food Science is to contribute to the scientific knowledge base for foods and beverages. Our research is focused primarily on applying fundamental principles from chemistry, biology, microbiology, engineering, and the social sciences to the conversion of raw agricultural products into foods and beverages for human consumption. We also study the safety, quality, nutritional, and environmental consequences of these conversions with the aim of providing the world with an affordable, safe, and sustainable food supply of high nutritional quality."

Mieri is a national research project backed by Italian Ministry of Agriculture. The acronym means: realization of small scale equipment for food processing, Also working with renewable energy. One of the missions of the project is to help small rural enterprises, suffering from the economic crisis and encouraging them to self-production of safe and high-quality processed food: such as: jams, sauces and dried typical F & V. On the one hand the range of industrial food equipment is available on a large scale and expensive. On the other hand Mieri works on miniaturized and simple prototypes"
